How to Apply for a VSC (Beeton Stingers)

Please read the instructions below carefully and follow the steps that apply to you:

1. Returning Staff with a VSC from 2023 or 2024

• You do not need a new VSC this year.

• You must complete the online declaration through the OHF Submission Portal:
   OHF VSC Submission Portal

 Action: Submit the declaration only.

2. Returning Staff with a VSC from 2022 (or earlier)

• Your previous check is now expired.

• You must apply for a new VSC online with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP):
   OPP Vulnerable Sector Check Application

  • You’ll need two pieces of government-issued ID (one with photo).

  • The association has provided a volunteer letter to reduce/waive the fee. It may be found on our website under Resources section. 

• The OHF will accept VSC receipts as of May 15, 2025.

  • While waiting, you must upload your receipt AND complete the online declaration through the OHF portal.

  • Once you receive your new VSC, upload the final copy.

 Action: Apply for a new VSC + Upload receipt now + Complete declaration now + Upload full VSC once received.

3. New Bench Staff (no VSC previously submitted)

• You must apply for a new VSC with the OPP:
   OPP Vulnerable Sector Check Application

• The OHF will accept VSC receipts as of May 15, 2025.

  • While waiting, you must upload your receipt AND complete the online declaration through the OHF portal.

  • Once you receive your new VSC, upload the final copy.

 Action: Apply for a new VSC + Upload receipt now + Complete declaration now + Upload full VSC once received.

4. Important Reminders

• Receipts are accepted (as of May 15): All bench staff must upload their receipt and complete the declaration while waiting for their VSC.

• Declarations are mandatory every season, even if you had a recent VSC.

• Processing times: OPP checks can take several weeks, so apply early and upload your receipt to stay compliant.
