OMHA COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for 2021-2022
Submitted By Webmaster on Monday, September 13, 2021
Attention Stinger Hockey Families,

The OMHA has recently announced the COVID-19 vaccination policy for the upcoming 2021/22 hockey season.
The OMHA will be mandating that all eligible participants involved in minor hockey, are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 for the upcoming season. All eligible participants are required to be fully vaccinated by October 31, 2021.This policy applies to all OMHA centres, including Beeton.

The OMHA’s policy applies only to players and officials who are eligible to be vaccinated (i.e. born in 2009 or earlier). The applicable Association and OMHA will be expected to abide by the Human Rights Code (Ontario) and there may be medical or other accommodations granted in exceptional circumstances with appropriate supporting documentation. In approved cases an accommodation plan (which the OMHA policy states will include regular COVID-19 testing) will be developed through consultation between the OMHA, Association and the affected family and team. The OMHA policy is consistent with other provincial hockey leagues, such as the OHL, the GTHL, and the OWHA.
It is also expected that due to this announcement, access to all indoor arenas will be denied to non-vaccinated individuals in New Tecumseth, and surrounding municipalities.
For further information please see OMHA COVID-19 Vaccination Policy document in the library.

We hope you will join us for the exciting upcoming season, however we do understand and respect the choices you will need to make for your family.
