Atom Stingers return to the hive with a big 6-3 victory after a fun weekend in Goderich
The Atom Stingers competed hard and had fun last weekend at the Ryan O'Reilly Tournament in Goderich.
Thank you to all the parents and family members for making it possible for our boys and girls to have fun and compete last weekend at our tournament in Goderich! Our team showed tremendous heart grinding out a 3-3 tie in our third game against Shallow Lake. Hats off to our players of the game at the tourney: Ethan W, Landon T, and Johhny G. Team, the coaches are proud of your efforts and your never give up attitude.
The team was looking to get back on track Wednesday night at the hive where they hosted the Richmond Hill Kings. Your stingers would not disappoint striking six times en route to a 6-3 victory. Landon T. opened the scoring for the stingers early in the second period beating the Kings goalie with a wrist shot from forty feet away. Two minutes later Landon T. would score again on an impressive set up from Blake M. and Thomas A. Landon T. would complete the hat trick on an end to end rush deking Richmond Hills goalie to put the Stingers on top 3-2. With forty seconds left in the second Blake M. ripped a wrist shot passed the goalie on a pass from Conor K. to give the stingers a little breathing room leading 4-2. Landon T. would go on to add 2 more goals giving him five on the night, congratulations Landon! Shout out to our player of the game Blake M. for his hard work and leadership. Also, a big shout out to Ronan Z. who looked like a young Dennis Savard in the final minute playing keep away from 3 Richmond Hill players in our end. A final shout to Ethan W. on defence for protecting the house and being an awesome teammate!
All of your hard work and dedication is paying off team. You are turning a lot heads this year! I love to watch you play.
