Atom Stingers Continue To Roll
The McCarthy Electrical Atoms beat the Schomberg Red Wings and move to 2-0 to start the season.
Once again the Stingers fell behind early but battled back to beat the wings 3-1 on Thursday night. Three minutes into the second period, Ethan W. would feed a nice pass to Landon T. who muscled his way past two defenders and slid one past the Schomberg net minder to even the score at one. Our Stingers kept pressing and three minutes later Landon T. would notch his second of the game off a wrist shot to make it 2-1. Our players remained focused and didn't get comfortable with the lead, continuing to attack the puck and work together. Courtney A. and the rest of our Defence played a phenomenal game, holding the Redwings to only 10 shots on goal. Fifty eight seconds into the third period, Landon T. would jump on a rebound of the stick of Will D. to complete the hat trick propelling the Stingers to their second win in as many games this season! Big shout out to our player of the game Shaelyne A. for her excellent play at both ends of the rink! Thanks once again to our parents for cheering us on to victory!
