What an exciting and fast paced season opener for the 2017-2018 Atom Stingers! After falling behind early our players rallied back and skated away with a 4-2 win over the Nobleking Knights.
Trailing 1-0 early Ethan W. fired a wrist shot past the Knights goalie to even the score. The goal gave our stingers some life and three minutes later the stingers answered again when Landon T. rifled one passed the Knights goalie on a break away to make it 2-1. The Knights continued to press but goalie Ethan N. turned a side shot after shot to keep the stingers in the game. With three minutes left in the first Conor K. flipped one top shelf to put the stingers ahead 3-1. Nobleking would answer again in the third to pull within one but Conor K. would bury a shorty, his second goal of the game, to give the stingers a two goal lead. The Stingers would hold on to win their first game of the season. Shout out to our player of the game, goalie Ethan N. for making 26 saves en route to his first career SRLL victory! Wow, what a first game!! Big thanks goes out to our parents for supporting and cheering our players on to victory. Your cheering did not go unnoticed on the Stingers bench. Great Job team
